How is a root canal done?
A root canal is performed when the dentist removes the infected or inflamed pulp and nerves in the root of the tooth, cleans and shapes the inside of the root canal, then fills and seals the space. Afterward, your regular dentist will place a crown on the tooth to protect and restore it to its original function.

Why It Matters
Long-standing tooth infections allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream, triggering inflammation and disrupting metabolism. Treating these infections restores balance - impacting blood sugar, cholesterol, and systemic inflammation.
